Senior Odoo consultant - contract role

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Odoo Consultant to join our client for an initial 3-month contract in Oxford.

The successful candidate will take ownership of Odoo implementation and optimisation activities, working closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, configure solutions, support testing and ensure successful delivery.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role requiring strong functional Odoo expertise and the ability to work independently within a short project timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions and gather business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Analyse existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and configure Odoo solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Work across relevant Odoo modules including CRM, Sales, Accounting, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing and/or Project.
  • Prepare functional specifications and translate business requirements into actionable tasks for developers.
  • Manage GAP analysis between standard Odoo functionality and client requirements.
  • Work closely with developers on customisations and integrations.
  • Support data migration, validation and reconciliation activities.
  • Develop and execute UAT scenarios and resolve functional issues.
  • Conduct system demonstrations and user training.
  • Support testing, deployment and go-live activities.
  • Provide post-go-live support and troubleshoot functional issues.
  • Manage client expectations, requirements and change requests.
  • Work closely with project managers and technical teams to ensure delivery within agreed timelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Odoo/ERP consulting, with strong hands-on Odoo implementation experience.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end Odoo implementations.
  • Strong functional knowledge of multiple Odoo modules.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, configuration and UAT.
  • Strong understanding of Odoo implementation methodology and best practices.
  • Experience working with developers on customisation and integration requirements.
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver within a short-term contract environment.
  • Previous UK client/project experience would be highly desirable.

Desirable

  • Odoo certification.
  • Experience with Odoo versions 16/17/18/19.
  • Experience with Manufacturing cleints/projects
  • Experience with data migration and third-party integrations.
  • Experience supporting an Odoo go-live or rescue/optimisation project.
  • Previous contract/freelance consulting experience.

Contract Details

Duration: 3 months initially, possibility of extension
